My sweet "G" man

If you haven't guessed by now, yes, I am one of those mom's who love to share cute stories about their children with others, and I had to share this one about who else, "G" man yet again...

For those who think boys are all rough and tumble and such, read the following. I found this small essay in his bookbag that he wrote today. He had to use the words can't, every, beautiful, friends, and about. Here is what he wrote...
"When we got done with (Shanxi girl's) room, I told my friends. I pray about her every day that she will get here. We can't get her yet. When we got a picture of her, she was beautiful."

I will put this paper away to put in Shanxi girl's scrapbook. It brought a tear to my eye that he wrote something so endearing. Even though he is boy in every sense of the word...he has the biggest heart and such a wonderful soul for a 7 1/2 year old boy...

Happy Chinese New Year!!!

Happy Chinese New Year! 2009 is the Year of the Ox! We wish we were celebrating with Shanxi girl, but, we hope in the meantime she is having a good time celebrating it with her friends in China. We are going to a local Chinese restaurant for supper, called Main Moon.

Yesterday was also 30 days into our wait for our LOA. Fingers crossed we don't have much longer to wait.

Until next time...

Happy Birthday "A" !!!

Hello! I wanted to get this posted last night, but, just didn't have time. Anyways, Happy 5th birthday today to "A" man ! I can hardly believe he is 5 years old already. I think time flies even faster with the youngest child. He is anxious to go spend his money today, so I promised him that after school, we would take him shopping.

He proudly announced today that he is "finally, one whole hand!"

He took cupcakes and pretzels for his birthday at preschool today, so I hope he has a good day.

Happy Birthday "A"!!! We love you!!

Until next time....

Finally, I get our Shanxi girl's pictures up...

Hello everyone! I finally was able to upload our daughter's pictures to the blog. I will show you the first picture we ever saw of her, and then some more recent pictures.

The picture of her in the pink shirt is the first picture we ever saw of her. We fell in love with her immediately and knew she was meant to be in our family.

The picture of her eating a cookie is one we got from a family from Spain, who traveled to get their son in October of this year at the same orphanage. Through the amazing internet, we connected, and she thought she might have a picture of her. As it turns out, her son and our daughter were best friends in the same orphanage! The fact that she emailed me and had a picture of her and took the time to contact me, all while living in Spain, truly amazes me! She and her family are amazing and shared their experience with us.

The last picture of her standing was sent to us by Ann from redthreadchina. She was able to get us this picture in December.

We are so anxious to get her and bring her home with us. The wait is really hard! With China virtually shut down this whole week because of Chinese New Year, we know we won't be hearing anything. We are planning on celebrating CNY with some good Chinese food!

Enjoy the pictures! Until next time.....

Aaahhh...the innocence of a child...

I just had to share this story about "G"man.... Yesterday, I picked the kids up after school, and as usual, asked them how their day was. "C" man said they watched the inuaguration for about 2 hours in the high school auditorium, and continued to complain that they missed recess, blah, blah,... "A" man said they read a book about it, since the Pre-K would never had been able to sit for 2 hours. I asked "G" man if they too watched it and he said yes, with a pouty face. So, I knew I had to press further to see what the face was all about. He said it not so many words that he was basically worried about Obama becoming President. I asked him why, and he said because a boy in his class told him that Obama was going to raise prices. "G" then continued to say that he knows for a fact Obama is going raise prices because he already started to. I asked him how he knew, and he said, "Because, when I used my allowance money Sunday at Walmart to buy a new Transformer, it cost $10, and they used to only cost $7.77!"
And he is worried now that he has to save even more money for a new Transformer. I had to bite my lip to keep from laughing! He just cracks me up sometimes! Just had to share this little snippet in the typical day of our lives!

Our Little Shanxi girl!

Our daughter is in the Shanxi province, which is very close to Beijing, so I imagine we will fly into Beijing first, then catch a flight to Shanxi. It should be a pretty quick flight. I believe Shanxi is only 250 miles southwest of Beijing. We will then fly after 6 days to Guanghzou, where the US Consulate is located. We will be there around 7 days, depending on when our Consulate appointment is.
